Zoho chief scientist Sridhar Vembu has suggested that holding fresh elections in Tamil Nadu could be the best way forward, citing the possibility of a fractured mandate.

In a social media post, he said that if no party secures enough seats to form a stable government, any administration formed would likely face constant pressures and instability.

Vembu argued that fresh polls under President’s Rule may be preferable, and called for “very strict” measures to ensure there is no money-for-votes in the next election. He said such steps would help reveal the people’s true verdict.

He also said he believes TVK leader Vijay could return to power with a majority. If DMK and AIADMK want to prevent that, he wrote, they should fight together.

On the BJP, Vembu said the party should contest on its own even if it fails to win a single seat, adding that it is time for the BJP to make a new beginning in Tamil Nadu and let voters decide afresh.
