DMK deputy general secretary Kanimozhi on Thursday rejected speculation that the DMK and AIADMK could come together to form a government, calling such claims mere rumours.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, she said the current political situation has been marked by uncertainty because the election results have not given anyone a clear and decisive majority. She added that this lack of a firm mandate has led to confusion and competing interpretations.

Responding to questions about the Governor, Kanimozhi said the DMK has repeatedly raised complaints and that there is an ongoing debate on whether the Governor’s actions align with constitutional provisions. She reiterated that the party’s stand remains unchanged.

Kanimozhi said the DMK’s position is that it does not want a Governor, and stressed that the party would not alter this stance at any time.

When asked about reports that the DMK and AIADMK might extend support from outside, she said there were many rumours and that it was not possible to respond to all of them.
