Chennai: As the formation of a new government in Tamil Nadu remains delayed, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has begun overseeing key administrative functions to ensure day-to-day work does not slow down.
Raj Bhavan said the Governor instructed senior officials in the School Education Department to immediately publish the Class 12 public examination results. The results were released on Thursday following his directions.
In its statement, Raj Bhavan noted that holding back the results until a new Education Minister assumes charge could delay students’ higher education admissions. Citing students’ welfare, the Governor asked that the results be issued without delay.
The election results were declared on May 4, but no political party secured a majority, leading to continued uncertainty over government formation. In this backdrop, the Governor’s move to monitor routine administration has been highlighted as an effort to prevent disruption in essential functions.
