Senior functionaries of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) have reassured the party’s MLAs that the party will form the government, urging them to remain confident.
According to the party, all TVK MLAs were asked to assemble at its Panaiyur office in Chennai on Wednesday. Senior leaders including Anand and Sengottaiyan addressed the gathering.
They said TVK’s performance as a standalone party was unprecedented in India’s electoral history, but alleged that some were attempting to prevent the party from forming the government through “conspiracies”. They asked MLAs not to be afraid.
The leaders also said party chief Vijay is in talks with certain parties to form a coalition government, and reminded MLAs that the party’s victory was closely tied to his leadership.
They instructed MLAs not to leave Chennai until the swearing-in process is completed.
