Chennai: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has said that forming a new government in the state is not only a necessity of the times but also a key responsibility of democracy.
In a statement, Stalin noted that the Assembly election results have been declared and the Election Commission has published the list of elected MLAs. He added that the Governor has already issued an order dissolving the previous Assembly.
With the newly elected members needing to take oath and begin advancing the welfare of the state, Stalin said a new government must be constituted at the earliest.
To prevent any delay in government formation, he urged the Governor to immediately initiate the constitutionally mandated steps to enable the new administration to take charge.
