Chennai: Governor Arlekar is scheduled to depart for Thiruvananthapuram at 7.10 pm tonight, according to information shared on Friday.
With the Assembly election concluded, the TVK has emerged as the single largest winner and is preparing to form the government with support from parties including the Congress and the CPI(M).
VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan issued an official statement of support on Friday evening. The Muslim League, which has two MLAs, has also extended its backing, taking the total number of supporting MLAs to 120.
Sources said the Governor is travelling to Kerala to attend to official duties there, as he also holds charge as Kerala Governor.
Before the Governor leaves, Vijay has sought time to meet him and submit the support letters from VCK and the Muslim League, and formally stake claim to form the government.
