TVK leader Vijay, who has claimed he has the numbers to form the government, has not yet received an invitation from the Governor to take charge.

In the Assembly election, the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) led by Vijay won 108 seats. The Congress party, with five MLAs, and two Communist parties with two MLAs each have submitted letters extending support. The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), which has said it will support him, has not yet given a formal letter.

On Thursday, Vijay met the Governor for the third time and handed over the support letters he has received so far. TVK leaders are expecting a call from Raj Bhavan based on these documents.

However, no invitation has come yet. Reports suggest the Governor may take a decision after receiving the VCK’s support letter, leaving uncertainty over when Vijay will be asked to form the government and when he could be sworn in as Chief Minister.
