Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, who took oath today, signed files related to three key schemes announced during the swearing-in ceremony.

As per the announcement, households consuming up to 500 units of electricity in two months will receive 200 units of free power. The Chief Minister also said a “Singap Pen” special rapid response force would be formed to strengthen women’s safety.

Vijay further announced that the government would take stringent action to completely curb the circulation of narcotic substances in the state.

After signing the files, the Chief Minister held consultations at the Secretariat with ministers and senior officials on implementing the three schemes and on overall government functioning.

Sources said he also interacted with newly appointed private secretaries and sought updates from officials on administrative processes and governance.
