Actor Trisha attended the swearing-in ceremony of Vijay as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The event saw the presence of several VIPs and political leaders.
Among those who attended were Congress Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, Vijay’s parents Chandrasekhar and Shobha, CPI(M) state secretary Shanmugam, and CPI state secretary Veerappandian. MLAs who have extended support to Vijay’s government also arrived for the ceremony.
Organisers expect key leaders from the DMK and AIADMK to attend as well.
A notable departure from long-standing political tradition was Vijay’s attire at the ceremony. Unlike many former Tamil Nadu chief ministers who typically appeared in public in veshti and shirt, Vijay took oath wearing a coat and suit.
The ceremony was streamed live online, including via Dinamalar’s YouTube channels, as the new government led by TAVEK assumed office.
