Washington: Vedic chants from India resonated at the White House during a ceremony held to mark the United States’ National Day of Prayer.
The annual observance is held on the first Thursday of May. This year’s 75th anniversary event was conducted with the theme, “Let us praise God among the nations; let us seek Him through generations.”
Volunteers from the well-known BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Robbinsville, New Jersey, attended as special guests.
During the programme, they rendered “Shanti Path” verses from the Yajur Veda in a melodic style. As the mantras were chanted, the venue reportedly fell into a quiet, reflective silence.
President Donald Trump described the moment as historically significant and praised the participation, according to reports.
