Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay on Sunday (May 11) met DMK president M.K. Stalin at his residence in Chennai and held discussions, according to reports.

The meetings came after the first Assembly session led by CM Vijay, during which the newly elected members, including the Chief Minister, took oath as MLAs.

During Vijay’s visit to Stalin’s home, Udhayanidhi received the Chief Minister at the entrance. Stalin welcomed Vijay inside, honoured him with a shawl, and Vijay reciprocated. Stalin, Vijay, Udhayanidhi and Anand spoke for a short while, with former ministers E.V. Velu, Sekarbabu, M.R.K. Panneerselvam and Mahesh among those present.

Vijay later visited MDMK general secretary Vaiko at his Anna Nagar residence, where Durai Vaiko welcomed him with a shawl. Vaiko and Vijay spoke briefly, and Vaiko introduced family members, relatives, party functionaries and staff who took photographs with the Chief Minister.

Stalin later posted that Vijay, after assuming office as Chief Minister, met him in a spirit of political civility to receive greetings, and that he offered his wishes and advice.
