Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to people across the country to adopt seven specific measures aimed at changing daily habits.
He made the request while participating via video conferencing in an event held in Hyderabad, Telangana. After inaugurating various development projects, he urged citizens to follow the seven-point appeal.
The Prime Minister asked people to prioritise working from home wherever possible and to avoid buying gold for one year.
He also called for reducing petrol and diesel consumption by using public transport, cutting down on cooking oil use, and moving away from dependence on chemical fertilisers by adopting natural farming.
In addition, he urged citizens to choose indigenous products over foreign goods and to avoid foreign tourism for one year.
