DMK MLA Udhayanidhi, who has been selected as the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, said the party will function as an energetic opposition that reflects the voice of the people.
In a statement, he congratulated the new state government and Chief Minister Vijay. He also thanked DMK president M.K. Stalin, party functionaries and the people of Tamil Nadu for entrusting him with the responsibility in the 17th Assembly.
Udhayanidhi said the DMK would raise public issues not only in the Assembly but also in public forums and on social media. He added that the party would place constructive criticism before the government.
Stressing that the DMK would act as a “good opposition” rather than merely an opposing force, he said the party would serve as a bridge between the people and the government. He pledged to remain fully committed to the responsibility and work hard.
