Actor Rajinikanth declined to respond to a question about Vijay assuming office as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, offering only a folded-hands greeting before leaving.

The incident took place at Chennai airport on May 12, when reporters approached Rajinikanth and asked for his reaction to Vijay taking charge as Chief Minister.

Rajinikanth did not give any verbal reply. Instead, he greeted the media with folded hands and moved on.

Vijay, the leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has formed the government with the support of the DMK and its alliance partners, including the Congress, CPI, CPI(M) and the Indian Union Muslim League.

Rajinikanth had earlier congratulated Vijay after TVK won the highest number of seats in the election.
