Beijing: China’s foreign ministry said US President Donald Trump will travel to China on May 13 for a three-day official visit, following an invitation from President Xi Jinping.
The visit will be Trump’s first trip to China since his 2017 visit during his first term, according to the statement.
The trip comes amid rising tensions between the two countries, with issues such as the West Asia war and the resulting crude oil shortage adding to the strain.
Expectations are also building around a possible trade agreement. Discussions are expected to cover nuclear security, regulation of artificial intelligence, and critical minerals.
