Chennai: The AIADMK’s internal divide came into sharp focus during a trust vote, with the party’s MLAs voting in two different directions.

According to the details reported, 22 MLAs aligned with Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) voted against the government, while 25 MLAs identified with the S.P. Velumani camp voted in support.

The voting pattern is being seen as clear evidence that the party has effectively split into two blocs inside the Assembly.

The report also listed the MLAs grouped under each camp, naming 25 legislators under Velumani’s side and 22 under EPS, based on how they voted in the confidence motion.
