New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that a “double-engine government” will ensure key Central government schemes reach people without obstacles.
According to the report, the BJP-led West Bengal government under Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari held a cabinet meeting and approved the implementation of the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme.
The cabinet also cleared the rollout of other Central schemes, including PM-Kisan, PM-SHRI and the Vishwakarma scheme.
Welcoming the decision in a social media post, Modi said the move would help ensure quality and affordable healthcare for the people of West Bengal through Ayushman Bharat, described as the world’s largest health insurance programme.
Under Ayushman Bharat, eligible families are entitled to free health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per year.
