National BJP organisation general secretary B.L. Santhosh on Tuesday held discussions with senior leaders of the party’s Tamil Nadu unit at the state BJP office in T. Nagar, Chennai.

According to party sources, Santhosh told the leadership that the party needed to work more effectively for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election. He said the central leadership’s focus was now turning towards the southern states.

He also remarked that several actions of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government appeared to be on the lines of the DMK, and argued that this could create an opening for the BJP.

Santhosh advised every office-bearer to personally meet local party workers and booth committee functionaries and engage in party expansion efforts. He also asked leaders to take up agitations on public issues, the sources said.
