Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar on Thursday said the issue surrounding the appointment of the AIADMK whip remains pending, as petitions submitted by the party are still under review.
According to the Speaker, two rival groups within the AIADMK have approached him with separate representations. The dispute has emerged amid internal differences within the party following its electoral defeat.
The report said one side is led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), while another group includes S.P. Velumani and C.V. Shanmugam. Both sides are seeking to secure the position of legislature party leader.
Prabhakar noted that only two days have passed since the letters were submitted. He said the petitions are being examined and a decision will be taken after due consideration.
