Chennai: The BJP’s central leadership has reportedly issued a directive to its Tamil Nadu unit not to make public comments on the ongoing AIADMK-related developments.

According to BJP sources, national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh recently sought inputs from senior BJP functionaries in Tamil Nadu on political developments that followed the change in government in the state.

During these discussions, the leadership is said to have specifically cautioned party office-bearers against offering any views on the AIADMK’s internal situation, including reports of the party functioning as two groups led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami and S.P. Velumani.

The instruction, sources said, was aimed at ensuring that BJP leaders in the state refrain from speaking on the matter in public.
