Dharmapuri: AIADMK organisational secretary Singaram has alleged that a rival faction within the party attempted to lure Arur MLA Sampathkumar with a cash offer running up to Rs 10 crore.

Speaking to reporters in Dharmapuri, Singaram said the offer was made by the camp aligned with former minister S P Velumani, with the aim of drawing Sampathkumar away from AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami’s side.

According to him, the proposal involved two instalments—Rs 5 crore as a first tranche and another Rs 5 crore later. He claimed Sampathkumar did not accept the alleged offer, citing loyalty to the party.

Singaram also referred to internal changes in Dharmapuri district, stating that Palaniswami had announced two district secretaries and that Palakodu MLA Anbazhagan was removed from the district secretary post after switching sides amid the party split.
