AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP Inbathurai has claimed that a CBI case could be registered against Chief Minister Vijay over allegations of “horse-trading” to secure support.

In a social media post, Inbathurai referred to the 1993 Lok Sabha confidence vote, alleging that the then Congress government obtained support through horse-trading involving Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MPs. He noted that the CBI had registered a case then against former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and Union Minister Buta Singh.

Drawing a parallel, he said a similar CBI case could be possible now against CM Vijay.

The report also said that Palaniswami’s side had earlier submitted a complaint to the Governor’s secretary accusing the Chief Minister of engaging in horse-trading.

With Inbathurai’s remarks, it is being suggested that Palaniswami’s camp may step up efforts seeking a CBI case in the matter.
