Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has asked his supporters to stop comparing him with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay.

In recent days, social media and political circles have drawn parallels between Vijay—an actor-turned-politician who formed his party and has now come to power in Tamil Nadu—and Pawan Kalyan’s political journey. The comparisons gained traction after Vijay’s rise, while Pawan Kalyan had earlier faced defeat when he contested in two constituencies in 2019.

Speaking to party workers at the Jana Sena headquarters in Mangalagiri, Pawan Kalyan said he has been facing pressure from the public since Vijay became Chief Minister. He noted that many people have been sending messages asking why he could not achieve a similar outcome in Andhra Pradesh.

Using an analogy, he said people often get excited about events in a neighbouring street as if they are happening in their own home, but stressed that Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are different and their political conditions cannot be equated.

Referring to his 2019 experience, he said he did not receive sufficient public support and claimed even his own ministers did not stand by him. He therefore urged workers not to compare him with others. During the speech, he did not mention Vijay by name and referred to him only indirectly.
