The Tamil Nadu government has officially announced the allocation of portfolios to ministers in the state cabinet. The details were released through a statement from the Governor’s office.

Chief Minister Vijay has been allotted a wide set of departments, including general administration, home and police, special programme implementation, and welfare portfolios covering women, youth, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities. He also holds municipal administration and drinking water supply.

Sengottaiyan has been appointed Finance Minister, with charge of finance, pensions and pension benefits. Other key allocations include N. Anand handling rural development and panchayats along with poverty alleviation and irrigation schemes; Aadhav taking public works (buildings, highways and minor ports) and sports; and Arunraj overseeing health, medical education and family welfare.

Venkataramanan has been given food and public distribution, consumer protection and price control. Nirmalkumar has been assigned electricity and renewable energy along with law, courts, prisons, anti-corruption, the Assembly, Raj Bhavan, elections and passports. Rajmohan will handle archaeology, Tamil as an official language, Tamil culture, news and publicity, film technology and newspaper regulation.

T.K. Prabhu has been allotted mines and minerals, while Keerthana has been given the industries portfolio, making her the youngest minister in the cabinet, according to the release.
