New Delhi is preparing for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s visit later this month, during which he is expected to meet the President, Vice President, Prime Minister and Union Home Minister, among others.
Supporters of the party are making arrangements from the airport to the Tamil Nadu House where the Chief Minister will stay, including plans to put up party flags and print welcome posters.
The report also claims that more than 400 people travelled from Delhi to Tamil Nadu and voted for the party’s ‘whistle’ symbol, and are now eagerly awaiting the Chief Minister’s arrival. Tamil organisations in Delhi are also said to be ready to welcome and felicitate him.
During his stay, CM Vijay is expected to host an evening refreshments meet for Tamil Nadu IAS officers serving in the Union government, where discussions are likely to take place.
Separately, foreign envoys—including from the United States—have reportedly expressed interest in meeting the Chief Minister. As such meetings require clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, several embassies are said to have written seeking permission, with interest in understanding Tamil Nadu’s approach to foreign policy and attracting investment.
