Former Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has alleged that a monetary “deal” is being discussed for securing ministerial berths in the Union Territory, claiming the bargaining has reached Rs 100 crore.
Speaking to reporters, Narayanasamy said the swearing-in of ministers in Puducherry is being delayed because of negotiations over money. He claimed an earlier demand of Rs 50 crore did not materialise, and that talks are now said to be in the range of Rs 100 crore to Rs 150 crore.
He also reflected on his alliance’s electoral setback, blaming confusion during seat-sharing and a lack of unity, which he said ultimately cost them the opportunity to form the government despite public support.
Narayanasamy further said Chief Minister N Rangasamy should not remain silent and must respond to the allegations regarding the reported bargaining for ministerial posts.
