Washington: As reports suggest the United States is considering renewed military action against Iran, US President Donald Trump has triggered fresh speculation with a cryptic social media post.
The backdrop is the ongoing conflict involving the US and Israel against Iran over its nuclear programme. A temporary ceasefire has been put in place to facilitate peace talks, but negotiations remain stalled as both sides continue to set conditions and reject each other’s demands.
According to the reports cited, Washington is weighing a return to military operations if current diplomatic efforts fail.
In this context, Trump shared an AI-generated image showing him pointing toward the camera while standing before warships moving through rough seas. Several ships in the image appear to fly Iranian flags, and the caption reads “Calm before the storm.” The image also depicts a US Navy officer standing near Trump, adding to the post’s impact.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher, who is involved in talks with the US, said Iran’s military is prepared to respond to any aggression. He warned that wrong orders and wrong decisions lead to wrong outcomes, adding that the world has already understood this.
