School Education Minister Rajmohan on Monday said there was “no room even for talk of compromise” in the government’s policy, responding to reporters’ questions on the PM SHRI scheme.
Speaking to the media in Nungambakkam, Chennai, he said the Class 10 public examination results would be released on May 20 at 9.30 am.
Raising concerns over funding, the minister alleged that the Union government had not provided education-related funds for the past two years, calling it unacceptable. He added that the state would not yield to any indirect pressure.
On student welfare, Rajmohan warned that action would be taken if school vehicles were not properly maintained. He said any lapses in student safety would invite strict measures without compromise, and that teachers’ issues would be resolved through discussions.
He also urged focus on students’ safety, health and overall public welfare.
