Remarks at a Thanjavur event

Opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, speaking at a wedding function in Thanjavur, delivered a sharp political message aimed at actor-politician Vijay and the ruling TVK government.

‘True face’ of the government

He said that within just 10 days, the people of Tamil Nadu—including women, youth and “Gen Z kids”—would have understood what he called the “real face” of the TVK administration. He added that more facts would emerge over time for a wider section of the public.

Rattle analogy to describe political attraction

Using an analogy, Udhayanidhi said a child under a mother’s protection may be momentarily drawn to someone who shakes a rattle to entertain, but would not stay with that person permanently. The child, he said, would recognise real affection and return to the mother.

Call for a return to DMK

In the same vein, he alleged that some people attract the public through glamour and “illusion,” but such appeal would not solve people’s problems. He asserted that the public would return towards the DMK—described by him as a “mother” to Tamil Nadu—and to the party’s leader, adding that “the sun will rise again.”
