DMK MP Kanimozhi on Tuesday said the party could achieve victory even without an alliance if it strengthens itself, while addressing a meeting of party functionaries in Thoothukudi.
Referring to the party’s defeat in the recent Assembly election, she said the loss needed to be studied closely. She described DMK’s defeat in the Thoothukudi constituency as unacceptable, noting that former minister Geetha Jeevan had worked closely with the people.
Kanimozhi asked party administrators to share the ground realities with the committee formed to analyse the reasons for the electoral setback. She said only honest feedback would help the leadership take decisions and make changes to the party’s organisational structure.
She added that the party was at a stage where it must reflect on alliance partners, and reiterated that strengthening DMK would enable it to win on its own. “We will soon prove who we are,” she said.
