NTK chief coordinator Seeman on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and Chief Minister Vijay, questioning election promises and governance claims.

Speaking at a Sri Lankan Tamil genocide remembrance event organised by the party at Maraimalai Nagar near Chennai, Seeman said Tamil is central to Tamil identity and argued that his party would not be shaken by minor electoral wins or losses.

He said NTK was not seeking a mere change of leaders or government, but a change in the basic system. Referring to earlier criticism of his speeches, he remarked that those who once treated him as a joke have now elevated a “comedian” to leadership.

Seeman questioned how a leader could contest without knowing the state’s financial position, citing a claim made after victory about a Rs 10 lakh crore debt burden. He alleged that empty promises were made despite knowing they could not be delivered, and sarcastically said free gas cylinders could be provided only if Iran was conquered through war.

He also commented on the DMK’s experience with the Congress, saying the DMK would now understand the Congress’ “quality”, and added that NTK would contest the upcoming local body elections and the 2029 Lok Sabha polls on its own.
