DMK president M.K. Stalin has reportedly drawn up an action plan to assess the party’s Assembly election defeat through a detailed field review across all 234 constituencies.

A 36-member team has been appointed to travel to every constituency and gather feedback from party functionaries. Stalin has instructed the team to act as his representatives and report facts without bias, without shielding anyone or seeking revenge.

He has also asked that even complaints directed at him or his family be conveyed to him without being withheld, and that information about the review should not be shared with those who are being criticised by party members.

According to party sources, Stalin reviewed the progress of the field work on Tuesday and later held consultations with senior leaders including deputy general secretary Kanimozhi, youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi, organisation secretary Bharathi, former minister Velu and other functionaries.

The sources said the discussions also covered plans to celebrate late leader M. Karunanidhi’s birth anniversary on June 3 and the possibility of bringing Kanimozhi into state-level politics. After the field review concludes, Stalin is expected to meet district secretaries individually and is said to have decided to obtain resignation letters from those who have served as district secretaries for around 30 years and from those held responsible for the defeat.
