VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan on Tuesday said AIADMK MLAs will not be accommodated in the TVK-led cabinet, citing an indication from the TVK side.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said he was duty-bound to thank Aadhav for the invitation to join the cabinet. He recalled that the party’s high-level committee met online on May 8 from 6 pm and concluded around 9 pm, during which many members expressed the view that VCK should be part of the ministry.

Thirumavalavan said the party had extended unconditional support only to enable the formation of the government. He added that after the swearing-in, Vijay had conveyed his preference at Velachery, and that Aadhav has now reiterated it publicly.

He clarified that VCK did not contest the election as part of the TVK alliance, but was in the DMK-led alliance and won two seats. Since TVK needed only two seats to form the government, VCK offered support, he said.

He noted that TVK has now openly expressed its desire for parties such as the Muslim League and VCK to be part of the government. The party will consult its senior functionaries and announce a decision, he added.
