The Madras High Court has directed authorities to file a report next week on what transpired during Minister Nirmal Kumar’s visit to the Thiruparankundram Subramaniya Swamy Temple.
The direction follows complaints from devotees that the temple’s midday closure schedule was altered to facilitate the minister’s darshan, triggering dissatisfaction among worshippers.
A video showing the minister offering prayers inside the sanctum reportedly went viral on social media, intensifying criticism. Devotees alleged that the temple administration delayed closing the doors and violated Agama norms to accommodate the visit.
The order was issued by a division bench comprising Justices G.R. Swaminathan and Lakshmi Narayanan during the hearing of another case, the report said.
