Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay is set to visit Delhi next week, marking his first trip to the national capital after assuming office. During the visit, he is expected to hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders.

The report said it is customary for a newly sworn-in Chief Minister to meet the President, the Prime Minister and Union ministers in Delhi soon after a new government takes charge. The Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government has received support from the Congress, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal, Left parties and the Muslim League.

Preparations for the visit have begun at Tamil Nadu House in Delhi. Vijay is expected to meet the Prime Minister, the Union Finance Minister and other senior ministers, with a focus on securing financial assistance for the state.

Officials are said to be working with the Chief Minister on preparing representations and requests to be submitted to the Centre. Vijay is also expected to meet senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, and visit Left party offices to thank CPI(M) general secretary M.A. Baby and CPI leader D. Raja.

The visit is also expected to include the inauguration of a Thiruvalluvar statue at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi, according to the report.
