Police sources in Coimbatore said a dedicated uniform with a special logo is being planned for the ‘Lioness Special Force’, which has been created with a focus on crimes against women and children.
The force has begun operations across all districts, but officials indicated it will fully step up field work after formal guidelines are issued following an official launch event.
According to a senior police officer, three teams are currently ready in the Coimbatore region—two in the city limits and one in the rural area.
The officer said details on the unit’s duties, operating procedures and whether a separate station will be set up will be shared once official instructions are released. Discussions are also under way to introduce a distinct logo and uniform to mark the unit’s identity.
