State Bank of India (SBI) employees have announced a two-day nationwide strike on May 25 and May 26, raising the possibility of extended disruption to banking services.

In an official post on X, SBI said the All India Bharatiya State Bank Employees Federation has called for the strike. The bank added that it is making efforts to ensure essential services for customers at branches are provided without interruption.

SBI advised customers to use ATMs and cash deposit machines for cash needs, and to contact customer service centres for assistance. It also urged customers to prioritise internet banking, YONO, mobile banking, UPI and other digital transactions.

The impact could stretch across five days, as May 23 is the fourth Saturday (banks closed), May 25 is a Sunday, the strike is scheduled for May 25-26, and May 27 is a Bakrid holiday. As a result, banking operations may remain affected from May 23 through May 27.
