DMK president M.K. Stalin has publicly cautioned party members to refrain from using harsh words that could hurt others, following a controversy triggered by DMK MP A. Raja’s social media post.

A. Raja’s post, which referred to alliance parties VCK and IUML in the context of actor Vijay’s newly formed cabinet, sparked sharp criticism online. VCK also issued a rebuttal, and supporters of VCK and Muslim parties condemned the remarks.

Amid the backlash, A. Raja deleted the post, reportedly after instructions from the party leadership.

In his statement on social media, Stalin congratulated the alliance leaders who have taken ministerial responsibility, including VCK’s Vanni Arasu and IUML’s Shajahan. He said every party has the right to decide its political course and appealed to DMK cadres not to speak in a manner that offends anyone.

Stalin also reminded party members of the legacy of C.N. Annadurai and M. Karunanidhi, urging them to praise what is good and criticise what is wrong, functioning as a constructive opposition.
