Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP treasurer Sekar has issued a sharp statement mocking the DMK, saying its so-called “Dravidian model” was shaken by the sound of a “whistle”.

His remarks came after DMK deputy general secretary Raja strongly criticised the joining of parties such as the Muslim League and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal with Chief Minister Vijay’s TVK-led government, according to the statement.

In his response, Sekar targeted Raja personally and questioned whether an ideology could “melt” over a mere whistle. He also referred to past ideological positions and internal criticisms associated with the Dravidian movement, while accusing DMK leaders of shifting their stand frequently.

The BJP leader further alleged that the DMK’s politics over decades had harmed Tamil society, and used a series of harsh phrases to describe the party and Raja’s comments, as quoted in his statement.
