HR&CE Minister Ramesh on Saturday said arrangements would be made to enable devotees to have faster darshan at the Tiruvannamalai temple, addressing concerns over crowding and delays.
Speaking to reporters after an inspection at the Jambukeswarar–Akhilandeswari Temple in Thiruvanaikaval, Tiruchirappalli, the minister said the department reviewed basic facilities needed for devotees in temples.
During the inspection, he noted that certain items sold in prasad shops did not carry manufacturing and expiry dates. He said officials have been instructed to conduct inspections of prasad shops in temples across Tamil Nadu and ensure that products without these dates are not sold.
The minister added that officials who fail to act would be asked for explanations, and departmental officers have been directed to take necessary action. On Tiruvannamalai, he said discussions with temple administrators have already led to measures for quicker darshan at present, and a further inspection would be conducted to strengthen arrangements.
