Cooperation Minister Gandhiraj conducted a surprise inspection at Karpagam ration shop in Venkatesapuram near Arakkonam in Ranipet district on Friday.
During the visit, he checked the quality and weight of essentials such as rice and pulses being distributed to beneficiaries.
The minister instructed staff to provide commodities to ration cardholders in the correct weight without any lapses. He also stressed that the items supplied must meet quality standards.
He said substandard goods should not be issued to the public and must be returned. If any issues arise, staff were asked to bring them to his notice immediately, and to deal with the public in a courteous and kind manner.
