The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has issued fresh instructions to its office staff, asking them to inform their superiors before leaving for home after completing work.
According to a circular sent to all sections by Deputy Secretary Ramachandran, the government has noted that some employees are not reporting to office on time. The circular reiterates that all staff must be present in the office before 10:00 am.
It also states that when employees finish work and depart in the evening, they must obtain permission from the concerned second-level officers. Office assistants and record-room clerks have been specifically instructed to report by 9:30 am.
The department has warned that the directions must be followed strictly, and that appropriate action will be taken in case of violations.
The circular comes amid broader government instructions emphasising punctuality, including guidance that government employees should be at their desks by 10:00 am.
