US President Donald Trump said he is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “biggest fan” while addressing a US Independence Day celebration held in Delhi.

The event marked the 250th anniversary of US Independence Day. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar were among those who attended and spoke at the programme.

Trump delivered his remarks through a video conference. He said India can “100%” trust the United States and asked that the Indian side contact the US whenever help is needed.

He also referred to the US economy and stock markets, adding that the US has what India may seek. Trump ended by asking that his greetings be conveyed to PM Modi and that his message be shared with him.
