CBI officials have arrested 11 people in connection with an alleged leak of the NEET entrance exam question paper, conducted for medical college admissions. Among those held is Shivraj Modekavkar, a chemistry teacher from Latur in Maharashtra.

Investigators said Modekavkar runs coaching centres under the names RCC and Renugai. During the probe, officials found indications that he possesses assets worth around Rs 1,500 crore.

After seizing and examining his mobile phone, the CBI found that the NEET question paper had been sent to him even before the exam was held, according to officials. Following his arrest, other members of the alleged cheating network are said to have gone into hiding.

The CBI has received information that the absconding suspects may be staying in Chennai. Teams from Delhi and Chennai are conducting search operations to trace them.
