A massive stone quarry in Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram district, has sparked allegations of large-scale illegal extraction of mineral resources.
According to the report, the site appears to have been excavated to a depth of more than 2,000 feet, with rocks cut and removed on a significant scale.
The report raises questions over how such activity could have continued for nearly three years without drawing the attention of officials.
It also asks whether the alleged quarrying took place by evading oversight or with full knowledge of those responsible for monitoring the area.
