Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan has openly said he feels “jealous” when he looks at the rapid political rise of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay.
Speaking at a Jana Sena Party meeting in East Godavari district, Pawan Kalyan said he has been observing Tamil Nadu politics closely in recent times. Referring to the latest Assembly election there, he noted that a party appeared to win without much difficulty and go on to form the government.
Without naming Vijay or his party, he remarked that seeing a party win through the use of cut-outs and banners and then become chief minister made him feel envious. He contrasted this with his own journey, saying he has been working on the ground and “wandering street to street” in Andhra Pradesh for around 15 years, yet has not achieved a similar breakthrough.
Pawan Kalyan added that running a political party is a demanding task, akin to bringing together lakhs of people. He said leaders must understand public expectations and speak only with adequate knowledge of the issues.
Earlier, he had urged his supporters not to compare him with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, stating that the political situations in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are different.
