A 22-year-old Indian student pursuing undergraduate studies in Canada has been stabbed to death, triggering shock among the Indian community.
The victim has been identified as Vidhi Kalpeshbhai Mehani, a native of Borsad in Anand district of Gujarat. She had been living in Canada for the past four years to complete her degree and was also working part-time alongside her studies.
Canadian police said Mehani was killed in a stabbing attack in the Niagara region on May 15. The motive behind the attack has not yet been clarified.
A murder case has been registered, and investigators are conducting a search for the suspect, police said.
