Chennai: NTK chief coordinator Seeman’s family received a ceremonial “seervarisai” visit at his residence in Neelangarai after the birth of his baby girl.
According to the report, former DMK minister Anita Radhakrishnan arrived with supporters, carrying gift trays accompanied by traditional drumbeats. Seeman reportedly welcomed the group at the entrance of his home.
The gifts presented to the newborn included an 11-sovereign gold chain, a gold “paal sangu” (feeding conch) and gold anklets, among other items.
NTK sources were quoted as saying that while DMK and NTK had been politically at odds ahead of the Assembly election, recent developments have changed the atmosphere. The sources also claimed the visit was made after obtaining DMK leader M.K. Stalin’s approval.
The same sources further said that Stalin, through Anita Radhakrishnan, conveyed an invitation to Seeman to visit his home along with the child.
