PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss has warned that a large number of vacancies in Tamil Nadu government departments could weaken day-to-day administration.

In a statement, he said 41.7% of sanctioned posts in government departments are currently vacant, describing the situation as one that could destabilise governance if left unaddressed.

Referring to the status as of the last working day of May, Anbumani said the scale of unfilled positions highlights the need for immediate steps by the state government.

He urged the Tamil Nadu government to take action on the issue of vacant posts and ensure that essential functions are not affected by staff shortages.
