Heatwave conditions were reported in 14 places across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Saturday (May 31), according to the Regional Meteorological Centre.

Vellore recorded the day’s highest maximum temperature at 106°F.

Chennai (Meenambakkam), Tiruchirappalli and Tiruttani followed, each logging 104°F.

The weather office also reported temperatures crossing 106°F at several locations, including Chennai (Nungambakkam), Erode, Karur, Karaikal, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Palayamkottai, Puducherry, Thanjavur and Namakkal.
